Case Study Number2: Global Systems

Established in the early nineties, Global Systems are based in Essex, and have built a highly respected reputation for quality satellite and aerial installations in both the domestic and communal IRS markets. They worked with dTV Commercial soon after winning a large system contract for help and assistance.

Support and expertise

This required a supply-chain partner with both the infrastructure to support the supply of specialist IRS equipment, and the expertise to advise and suggest the best types of kit to install. Chris Law, Managing Director of this leading installation firm, explained to Riggers that “Solutions were able to offer a professional back-up that fulfilled our needs where others couldn't.” He was particularly pleased that contract-specific stock was held at his local depot in Woolwich, so that it was there “when we needed it and where we needed it.” This enabled Global to hold smaller quantities of contract-stocks on their own premises, leaving more space for stock to keep other jobs on the go during the major IRS install.

Global Systems were keen to take advantage of the consultancy arm of Solutions Group to move the contract forward. dTV Commercial were able to complement already skilled staff. Global's Senior Supervisor was brought up to speed on the equipment to be used on the contract, predominantly the cascadable V5 range from Vision by Mike Sherley. Because of the “very fast response on re-planning and quoting on the IRS network”, drawings were produced for Tony to work from by dTV Systems Designer Andrew Bull. And Co-ordinator Kerry Laughton acted as the lynchpin between dTV Commercial and Global Systems to make sure that “everyone was working towards the same goals”.
Perfect Partner

Chris sums up his experiences of the contract. “In short, Solutions Group have proved to be the perfect partner.
