A brand new range of Masthead Amplifiers has just been launched by Terrestrial television specialist, Antiference. The new products, which have been designed specifically for domestic and small commercial property markets, consists of Masthead Amplifiers, Combiner/ Splitters, Diplexers and Multi-Room Kits. Also included within the range is a universal power supply, designed to meet the power requirements of the entire range of new models. All units designed for external locations are housed within a weatherproof housing incorporating rubber gromets on all cable entries. The heavy duty ABS housing is fitted with a steel bracket and supplied with a 1.5-2 inch V-bolt and clamp. The bracket is also reversible to allow for surface mounting. All products are fully screened, to protect signals from external interference, and are built with a flip top lid for easy access to all components for connection or line power. The design incorporates saddle and clamp connections and you will find that the cable aligns with the centre terminal as you push it through the outer braid saddle.Once the connections are tightened, the screened lid can be easily replaced with the weather proofed grommets put back into place. Both low and high gain, grouped and wideband units are available. A range of diplexers/ combiners are also available in the same format. All incorporate line-power through facilities on one or more leg thereby enabling simple installation in conjunction with one or more masthead amplifier. Of particular interest will be the range of Multi-Room kits, which incorporate both the amplifier and power supply unit. With the increasing demand for additional TV/FM points in even the smallest of dwellings, these represent a very simple and cost effective way of meeting customer requirements. The ‘head room’ on the new range of amplifiers has been considerably improved to prevent installers from accidentally overloading the units with analogue signal when trying to increase the digital signal, thus reducing the risk of encountering problems in the field.
